WOMANIZER
Britney Spears

Superstar, where you're from? How's it going?
I know you. Got a clue what you're doing
You can play brand new to all the other chicks out here
But I know what you are, what you are, baby

Look at you, gettin more than just real
Baby, you got all the puppets with the strings up
Faking like a good one but I call ‘em like a see ‘em
I know what you are, what you are, baby

(Chorus)
Womanizer. Woman, womanizer
You're a womanizer, oh
Womanizer, oh
You're a womanizer, baby
You, you, you are
You, you, you are
Womanizer
Womanizer
Womanizer

Boy don't try to front, ah ah
Know just-just what you are, ah ah
Boy don't try to front, ah ah
Know just-just what you are, ah ah
You got me going, you're oh so charming, but I can't do it, womanizer
Boy don't try to front, ah ah
Know just-just what you are, ah ah
Boy don't try to front, ah ah
Know just-just what you are, ah ah
You say I'm crazy, I got you crazy, you're nothing but a, womanizer

Daddy, oh. You got the swagger of a champion
Too bad for you, you just can't find the right companion
I guess when you have one too many
makes it hard, it could be easy
Who you are, that's just who you are, baby

Lollipop. Must mistake me, you're the sucker
Too think that I would be your victim not another
Say it, play it, how you wanna
But no way I'm never gonna
Fall for you, never you, baby

(Chorus)
Womanizer. Woman, womanizer
You're a womanizer, oh
Womanizer, oh
You're a womanizer, baby
You, you, you are
You, you, you are
Womanizer

You say I'm crazy, I got you crazy, you're nothing but a, womanizer

Maybe if we both lived in a different world
(Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer, womanizer)
It would be all good and maybe I could be your girl
But I can't cause we don't... you

(Chorus)
Womanizer. Woman, womanizer
You're a womanizer, oh
Womanizer, oh
You're a womanizer, baby
You, you, you are

lss v. 5

I've been lss'ing on this song since I saw leona lewis singing it on TV somewhere yesterday. Can't remember which show though. But I do the remember the intrigera host asking her if indeed Simon Cowell bought her a house worth 5M$.. hmn... She said no. Naturally.

Anyhoo, I was able to download the track from this multiply site. Thanks site owner.

Sidenote: Drat! I missed Grey's last night. I totally spaced out and forgot all about it.

Bleeding Love
Leona Lewis
--------------------------
Closed off from love
I didn't need the pain
Once or twice was enough
And it was all in vain
Time starts to pass
Before you know it you're frozen

But something happened
For the very first time with you
My heart melts into the ground
Found something true
And everyone's looking round
Thinking I'm going crazy

But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open

Trying hard not to hear
But they talk so loud
Their piercing sounds fill my ears
Try to fill me with doubt
Yet I know that the goal
Is to keep me from falling

But nothing's greater
Than the rush that comes with your embrace
And in this world of loneliness
I see your face
Yet everyone around me
Thinks that I'm going crazy, maybe, maybe

But I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open

And it's draining all of me
Oh they find it hard to believe
I'll be wearing these scars
For everyone to see

I don't care what they say
I'm in love with you
They try to pull me away
But they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein
That I keep on closing
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open and I

Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love

lss v.4

It's been a while since a song got stuck in my head. The last being Be-yonce's song that goes "to the left, to the left." or something. Now I've got this Alana Davis (known for her cover of 32 flavors) song playing in my head non-stop since this morning. The song's called "I want you" It's nice. I like it much. I'm not sure but I think it's another cover.

I WANT YOU
Alana Davis

I've seen suckers loose themselves in the games they learn to play,
Children love to sing but then their voices slowly fade away.
People always take a step away from what is true,
That's why I like you around,
I want you.
Yeah you do... you make me want you.

An open invitation to the dance,
Happenstance set the vibe that we are in,
No apology because my urge is genuine,
And the mystery of opposites attract and
Here I am and I want to take a hit,
Of your scent and it bit,
So deep into my soul,
I want you.
You do you do, you make me want you.

And I can't get enough,
And I can't get enough,
And I can't get enough,
And I can't get enough.

The village church yard is filled with bones weeping in the grave,
The silver lining of clouds shines on people Jesus couldn't save,
You want to know how deeply my soul goes,
Deeper than bones, Deeper than bones,

And I can't get enough.
And I can't get enough.
And I can't get enough.
And I can't get enough.

After we did it by the window sill,
Smoke rings drifting into the sky,
wrapped in the quilt my that mama made
i walk and run fighting off the haze
but you talk real soft and kiss me on the cheek.
And like a jazz DJ you talk me into sleep,
There will be no regrets when the end come,
And it will surely come.

You do you do, make me want you
I want you,
I want you

EDIT: Okay, so while googling for the lyrics I learn that Thrid Eye Blind also has a version of the song. The link I have here is live and acoustic. I can't seem to find the studio version. I'll keep searching though.

song selection v2

remember marie's assignment? i thought of a song already. it's called "ang lahat ko ay ikaw" by wency cornejo. i so like the tune. it's not too slow and the lyrics (even the title) is perfect for a wedding.

i've uploaded it so she can have a listen. here's the link

song selection

may assignment ako from marie. i've to think of songs for her wedding reception specifically for the grand parade, couple's entrance, cake cutting, and waiter's parade. help! i'm drawing blanks. duda ako na makakaisip ako ng kanta kasi hindi naman ako mahilig sa mga love songs eh. suggestments anyone?

speaking of weddings, come june aabay ako sa kasal ng lukaret na si jane. di ko pa alam kung ano ang nakatoka sa akin, kung candle ba, o cord, o veil. basta isa sa tatlong 'yon. oks lang kasi its nice to play dress up once in a while. ang medyo hindi ko lang ma-take ay ang color ng gown... violet and fuchsia pink! saan ka pa?

balitang showbiz

... seriously??

anyhoo, ever since i got wind of the news that lea salonga's gonna do les mis' on broadway, i can't get the song "on my own" off my mind. for me, one sure cure for lss is to listen to the song over and over and over again until i grow tired of it. and so, i've been searching the net trying to find a decent version. i think i found one. what's nice about this is that the singer, whoever she is, sounds a bit like lea. or maybe i'm just imagining things?

on my own

And now I'm all alone again
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to
Without a home without a friend
Without a face to say hello to
And now the night is near
I can make believe he's here

Sometimes I walk alone at night
When everybody else is sleeping
I think of him and I'm happy
With the company I'm keeping
The city goes to bed
And I can live inside my head

On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone
I walk with him till morning
Without him
I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way I close my eyes
And he has found me

In the rain
The pavement shines like silver
All the lights
Are misty in the river
In the darkness
The trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever
And forever

And I know it's only in my mind
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say, there's a way for us

I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone
The river's just a river
Without him
The world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers

I love him
But every day I'm learning
All my life
I've only been pretending
Without me
His world would go on turning
A world that's full of happiness
That I have never known

I love him
I love him
I love him
But only on my own.

lss v.3

kaninang umaga pa!
shucks

SUPERHERO
by Jane's Addiction

Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
yeah
You were smiling by my table
Had to call up everyone that day
A beautiful mind and body
What a happy ending I see

My mind had been enabled
In a memory you overflowed
Want to be your superhero
Even if I tumble fall

I'm ok
You have that effect on me
But I need you desperately
You know I need you desperately

Brick or stone cannot hurt me
Madmen around the city go
They attack I'll bring them down
Making their chances super low

Oh my my, pretty naval
Dimple cheek, a face I adore
Want to be your superhero
Fallin' from a running horse

I'm ok
You have that effect on me
But I need you desperately
You know I need you desperately

I oh, I
Hold to that elusion
I, oh I
I'm not your average guy

Other guys they won't dare to
Join the line in order you peck
When they introduced me to you
My face had turned to super red
Your steady beck and call boy
Play'n on the piano
Want to be your superhero
Not afraid to tumble fall

I'm ok
You have that effect on me
But I need you desperately
You know I need you desperately

Want to be your superhero
Yeah I want to be your superhero
I want to be your superhero
Oh I want to be your superhero
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

another ooh child day

I bawled my eyes out yesterday morning. Nag-follow up ako ng manuscript at ang sabi sa akin for revision (again!) yung pinasa ko. Double revision na siya bale. This is a first for me. Hindi ko talaga siya inaasahan. And I really felt bad about it. Ang resulta, waterworks. That's me, Ang laki-laki kung tao pero sobrang iyakin ko.

I felt frustration plus disappointment plus the dread of asking moolah help from my bro all at the same time. The last bit's a toughie. So true. We've talked about this already many times before. We just can't see eye to eye kaya para lang kaming nasa merry-go-round.

Yesterday, when I called, he let his wife do the talking. That's how I know that he's mightily displeased. My sister in law cited Ms. Zafra as an example. Apparently, in one of her articles, she stated something about writing not being a stable and financially rewarding career. Again, so true. I was asked, paano daw kung puro revision ang mangyayari. I asked myself the same question, pa'no nga ba?

And I'm not sure I'd ever be ready to. I could follow my brother's advice and take up nursing so I could go to the States where the money is. But I can't see myself being happy doing that either. I don't know if I'm being stupid or what. Tama nga siguro si Dr. Phil, lahat ng tao may kanya-kanyang "currency" and not all has a dollar peso sign on it. Ever since kasi, hindi ako na-motivate ng pera. I recognize it as something that I need but I won't bend myself backwards just to get it. Okay na sa akin ang sapat lang. Unfortunately, that ain't the case with writing. Ang bagal ko kasing magsulat. Why? Cause, every time I write, I go head to head with my self-doubt demons.

Libet, ever the great best friend that she is helped me get my mind off the whole deal by giving me an account of what happened to her at the doctors last Friday. Aray! I won't go into the details basta, kuwento pa lang, tunog masakit na. In light of what she's going through, minsan naiisip ko na wala akong karapatang ma- *insert synonym for "feel bad" here* sa kaliit-liitang bagay gaya ng revision. That stuff happens. At least, I've control of my problem. Nasa akin ang solution. All I've to do is write more so that eventually I could write better.

Okay, enough of that.

In other news. Since I wasn't in a writing mood the other day, I decided to work on my proposed layout for the series that I wrote. Medyo pa-cutie-cutie yung nagawa ko to match the logo that my nephew Andre did for me.

I asked this friend of mine who's good with graphics if she could help me with my layout.

Kaya lang yung last bit, mukhang malayo pang mangyari.

This same friend me a text message saying that my book "Out of the Blue" is out already. I can't wait.

o-o-h child

I've forgotten how much I used to love this song until I heard it again recently in an episode of Kevin Hill. But the version they used wasn't as upbeat as the version I remember. Theirs was of a much slower tempo, more ballad-y

Eitherway, the positive message of the lyrics still come's across. Perfect to listen to when you feel blaah. Definitely a feel good song.

Dancing Days
STP Cover

Dancing days are here again.
As the summer evenings grow
I got my flower, I got my power
I got a woman who knows
You know it's all right
I said it's all right
I guess it's all in my heart
You'll be my only, my one and only
If that's the way it should start
Crazy ways are evident
In the way you're wearing your clothes
Sippin' booze is precedent
As the evening starts to glowI said it's all right
You know it's all rightI guess it's all in my heart
You'll be my only, my one and only
If that's the way it should start
I told your mama I'd get you home
But you didn't say I got no car
I saw a lion, he was standing alone
With a tadpole in a jar
I know it's all right
You said it's all right
I guess it's all in my heart
You'll be my only my one and only
If that's the way it should start
Dancing days are here again
As the summer evenings grow
You are my flower, you are my power
You are my woman who knows
You know it's all right
I said it's all right
I guess it's all in my heart
You'll be my only, my one and only
If that the way it should start

LBM

LBM - looking back at memories

Kahapon, nabasa ko ang TDLH#13 - Rodrigo Ambrosia ni Vanessa. Lyrics of the song Darkness Fell from Wolfgang could be found somewhere in the story. Dahil doon, naalala ko tuloy yung noong unang panahon ko. I was crazy about this band once.

And so she woke up from a dream
That was beautiful and starry and oh so wild
It was all still clear in her eyes
And though her mind was foggy
And blank she wondered why
Her life couldn't be as lovely it was time...
There was this king he had no castle or throne
But his horse was great and white
He rode alone and liked it that way
But when he met her he swore
He would never leave her side...
They rode across the land
Two lovers hand in hand
And no danger could come near
And when something made her cry
She'd look at him teary eyed
And he would make her feel better
Oh so much better so much better than before
And now this forest was their home
It was a night time
And the right time for love
In the dark
She placed her hand upon his chest
And all the rest just flowed
Makin' love down under an ancient far away night
It was so grand just holdin' someone's hand
And now safety came naturally
It was so clear that she would never ever have to fear
Oh tell me a story of magic and spiralling ships
And stars in the night
Just whisper in my ears
Make it soft but make it clear
I want to hear every breath you say
He placed his hand upon her breast
But she woke up from the land
Tears falling in her hands
As she looked up askin' why
She laid back in her bed
Thoughts raising in her head
Why can't my life be beautiful she said
As she closed her eyes again
Just prayin' he'd return
But only Darkness Fell upon her...

Apparently, the group was playing there live! Tingnan mo nga naman ang pagkakataon. I luv this band!

Around the time I was going gaga over the bands I mentioned above, I got a chance to meet the guy. He was in CJ then. He's a friend of a friend of a friend. You know how it goes. Last I heard, may scholarship siyang nakuha to study abroad.

accidentally crazy

I'm crazy about this song by Counting Crows called Accidentally In Love which is part of the soundtrack of the movie Shrek2. The lyrics go like this...

So she said what's the problem baby
What's the problem I don't know
Well maybe I'm in love (love)
Think about it every time
I think about it

Can't stop thinking 'bout it
How much longer will it take to cure this
Just to cure it cause I can't ignore it if it's love (love)
Makes me wanna turn around and face me b
ut I don't know nothing 'bout love

Come on, come on
Turn a little faster
Come on, come on
The world will follow after
Come on, come on
Cause everybody's after love

So I said I'm a snowball running
Running down into the spring
that's coming all this love
Melting under blue skies
Belting out sunlight
Shimmering love

Well baby I surrender
To the strawberry ice cream
Never ever end of all this love
Well I didn't mean to do it
But there's no escaping your love

These lines of lightning
Mean we're never alone,
Never alone, no, no

Come on, Come on
Move a little closer
Come on, Come on
I want to hear you whisper
Come on, Come on
Settle down inside my love

Come on, come on
Jump a little higher
Come on, come on
If you feel a little lighter
Come on, come on
We were once
Upon a time in love

We're accidentally in love
Accidentally in love (x7)
Accidentally

I'm In Love, I'm in Love,
I'm in Love, I'm in Love,
I'm in Love, I'm in Love,
Accidentally (X 2)

Come on, come on
Spin a little tighter
Come on, come on
And the world's a little brighter
Come on, come on
Just get yourself inside
her Love ...I'm in love

'Yan din ang background music ng teaser ng series na Miss Match ni Alicia Silverstone sa Star World. Sa sobrang pagkagusto ko sa kantang ito, nabuo tuloy sa isip ko ang MixMatch.

This trilogy is my feeble attempt to emulate the message of song i.e. the unexpectedness of love and the giddy feeling being in love brings.

Book 1: CRAZY BEAT (Unedited Teaser)

To wed or not to wed.

They were forced to spend time together dahil aksidenteng nag "stowaway" siya sa yate nito.

To make matters worse, natagpuan niya ang sariling attracted dito. And later, when her heart started doing the pitter-patter thing, she couldn't deny the fact any longer, she knew for sure she was in love with him.

Ano ngayon ang gagawin niya? She didn't know which to follow, her duty to obey her parents or the crazy beat of her love-struck heart...

Book 2: CRAZY FASCINATION (Unedited Teaser)

Margot had finally met the love of her life and what's great about it was that the object of her affection-the ultra cool Jake Luna, of the Zephyr's Way band fame-was also undoubtedly smitten with her.

Or so she thought. He claimed they were going nowhere and it was time to move on.

She embarked on a campaign: OPLAN - Bihaging muli ang mailap na puso ng binatang musikero.

Love comes knocking only once and she was willing to do whatever it takes to hold on to it...

Book 3: CRAZY WHIM (work in progress)

Kakakilig 'yon diba?

bootleg

I'm writing. Yes I am.

ear candy

I had forgotten how much I really liked listening to Alana Davis' cover of the song 32 flavors until I heard it again last night. In fact, I liked it so much I decided to change and use it as the music for my main page. Hopefully I'll have it up and playing in a bit as I'm already uploading the file as I type.

Normally, while listening to music, I'm pulled by the beat/melody more than the words. But the lyrics of this one had me taking notice.

Here goes...

Squint your eyes and look closer
I'm not between you and your ambition
I am a poster girl with no poster
I am thirty-two flavors and then some

And I'm beyond your peripheral vision
So you might want to turn your head
Cause someday you're going to get hungry
And eat all of the words you just said

I am what I am. I am 32 flavors and then some.

And God help you if you are an ugly girl
Course too pretty is also your doom
Cause everyone harbors a secret hatred
For the prettiest girl in the room

And God help you if you are a pheonix
And you dare to rise up from the ash
A thousand eyes will smolder with jealousy
While you are just flying pass

I am what I am. I am 32 flavors and then some
I'm taking my chances as they come
I am 32 flavors and then some
I am nobody but I am someone
yeah someone yeah

I'm not trying to give my life meaning by demeaning you
And I would like to state for the record
I did everything that I could do

I am beyond your peripheral vision
So you might want to turn your head
Cause someday you're gonna be starving
And eat all of the words you just said
that you said

I am what I am. I am what I am
I am 32 flavors and then some
taking my chances as they come
I am 32 flavors and then some
looking for truth but there is none

I am 32 flavors and then some
I never forget where I came from
I am 32 flavors and then some
I am nobody but I am someone.

I am 32 flavors and then some
taking my chances as they come
I am 32 flavors and then some
looking for truth but there is none

A bit of info, I just discovered that the song was originally done by Ani Difranco in 1995. If I'm not mistaken, it was Ani Difranco who sang the song "Wishing and Hoping" which was used in the title credits of the film My Best Friend's Wedding.

christmas came early

I first heard of this indie band called Acoustic Reserve a few months back. They're great! It's not often that I get excited over a band nowadays but this one's different. That's how great they are--at least to me. And if you're partial to Toad the Wet then you'd like their music too. Long story short, I sent them an email saying how much I enjoy listening to their music and in the reply they sent they promised to send me a copy of their CD.

To be honest, I was hoping but I wasn't really expecting they'd make good on their promise. They mentioned in their email that they're in the midst of writing songs for their second album so I assumed they'd probably be too busy to bother.

So you can imagine my surprise and utter glee when the mail came and with it the CD. No exaggeration, I literally shrieked when I saw it. And I was shaking with excitement as I tore open the CD packet.

Right now, I'm still reeling...

This is what their album cover looks like. Its called Lost with Neb and its my first Christmas gift this season. It has 14 tracks all in all. Among my favorites are Sarah Walks In, Holding on and Tuesday Morning.

Abril, if you're reading this... I'll burn you a copy

oh my gulay!

Remember my dilemma before? kung tatanggapin ko ba offer na free CD ng acoustic reserve or not?? Well after several hours of pondering, I finally gave in. Take note, normally, I wouldn't kaya lang like na like ko talaga sound nila eh...

so anyways, this was my message

Subject: RE: you did a great great job!

hello again acoustic reserve,

thanks so much for taking time out to reply to my earlier message. truth is, i wasn't really expecting you would and the fact that you did made me smile :) silly. thanks jim! and its sweet of you to offer sending me a copy of your CD but you're reply is more than of enough thank you for me so no need to go to all the trouble (of sending the CD, that is) ...unless you really want to, then my mailing add is: *sheepish grin*

and this was their reply

Hey there,

Chris from A.R here. Outside of Canada, I think you're the first international cd that we'll be sending! How exciting :)

I'm glad Jim got back to you.. I am not as good with email checking as often as I should, but though I fall behind I still get them done. I hope you enjoy your copy of the cd, we'll be sure to send that out this week. Jim and I are planning on finishing the writing of our second cd this week, so if you have any good ideas for songs send them on over to us.

Thanks for taking the time to email us and let us know what you think about our music. It's always encouraging that people can still find our stuff among all the other good stuff out there by other inde artists. Take care and thanks for the email. Tell your friends.

Chris

Sana signed copy...hehe humirit pa daw 'no?! Anong cover kaya ang ginamit nila?

yup, its always nice listening to indie music. mas puro kasi, although yung iba admittedly hindi kasing pulido technically, mas gusto ko pa din ang ganitong mga tugtog. alam ko kasing sila lang ito, purely the band, wala pang influence ng kung sino-sinong nakapaligid sa kanila. just
them, their music, and the message they want to convey...

banda rito, banda roon

Sa palagay ko nagre-regress ako. During college I was a quasi-groupie to several bands tulad ng Color It Red, Tropical Depression, E Heads, at oo pati na ang After Image.

My last blog I was hailing this band called Acoustic Reserve. I wrote them an email. Eto ang nakasaad...

hello there!

first of, i'd like to congratulate you guys for having produced such a "super" fine album. i dont have a copy yet but i sure as hell will grab one as soon as its available here. till then ill just have to make do with what i've managed to download from the net so far *sigh*

second, i just want you guys to know that i really like your music. right now your songs rank up there among my list of favorites. besides being great to listen to, your sound reminds me of this now defunct band that i used to be crazy about (still am actually). remember toad the wet sprocket? anyways, keep up the good work and more songs to come!

your fan from manila (philippines)

at kanina nabasa ko ang reply nila!

Hi there,

Jim here from Acoustic Reserve. Just writing to say thanks for the email. We really appreciate it when people go out of their way to say hello. Makes us smile :). If you are looking to obtain a cd, just send us your address and we will be more than happy to send you a copy free of charge, just our way of saying thanks again.

Also, thanks for the compliment in comparing us to Toad the Wet Sproket, one of my favorite bands. Again, thanks for the email and hope to hear from you soon.

Take care,
Acoustic Reserve

Parang bigla akong nahiya...
