Currently watching SUPERMAN RETURNS on cable whilst writing the tenth installment for my upcoming series. If all goes well, it'll probably be released by next week or next, next week.

The coincidence lie in the illustration I chose for Zeke. That's my character's name. It's none other than Superman himself, Brandon Routh. As a rule, I try not to use easily recognizable faces as reference for my book covers but I just couldn't resist this one time.

Ever since good friend Ella did multiply selling, I've thought about doing the same. I wanna sell PHR books. But then I thought I might be encroaching on my publisher's territory. They have their own site as you know and well they may be thinking of putting up their own online store there. I dunno, I guess. And so I put the plan on hold. But then, I dropped by their message board one time and saw how readers from outside Manila have been complaining about not getting their pocketbook fix on time. It made me think about doing the multiply thing again…

more TV talk and one movie
- I'm not exactly a fan of AI but I do watch it from time to time. This season, I'm rooting for Ramiele (spell?) simply because she's Pinay. Siyempre proud to Filipino. Anyhoo, last night I saw the final twelve perform and I can't help but think that she's like Jasmine Trias. There's no variety in her music. And I agree with the judges, it was a pretty boring performance. I won't be surprised if she gets booted off the show. Edit to add: I like her better than Jasmine though because she was quick to claim that she's Pinay. Unlike J who was all Hawa-i from the get go.

- I'm still pissed at Sky. No BTV means no PBL. And that sucks, big time! I'm aching to see how the Tigers are doing pa naman. ARrrgh!

- One film I can't wait to watch is Pixar's Wall-E.

I recently learned that fellow writer Hannah's mom passed on.
And more recently, former officemate Ba-Joy's dad too.
I know how tough it is to lose a parent.
My condolences to the both of you.

it's been a month now

saw "the soup" earlier. this show's hilarious and its crappy velvet's only saving grace imo. the host guy so dissed tyra--funny ha-ha

am still pissed about the change in the channel line up though. crap! crap! crap! it's a good thing solar was generous enough to free-up some of their channels. that way, i can still get my daily dose of E!news, Ellen, and the Today show. i miss jackTV though (american dad, family guy, Conan, Jay)

ive heard a lot have changed cable providers already. libet's family for one have destinized so to speak. but switching to destiny is not an option for me since im living at my kuya's place and it's his cable subscription we're using not mine. add to that, destiny doesn't carry some of the channels that i like. take star world (greys, ai) for example and axn (amazing race asia). then there's cinema one as well.

i remember years back when the star channels pulled out from sky. i was extremely pissed back then too. then there was this time when discovery and animal planet did the same thing. both times sky caved as a result of the en masse migration of their subscribers and brought said channels back to their fold. but not without raising their rates afterwards though.

back when i was still living solo, i used to subscribe to cablelink their rate was around 500 bucks. with sky however, the monthly fee is around 900. totally unfair! especially since cablelink offer more channels compared to sky. i wonder why ntc can't regulate these rates. it's so open to abuse.

with this recent solar pull out, im thinking sky wont be caving in anytime soon even if they wanted to. the tiff with star and discovery before was allegedly due to sky's outstanding payables. with solar i think the reason's more complicated. read here. rumor also has it that sky's pretty miffed with solar for giving pacman to gma. this, after the gentleman's agreement they reached regarding the matter.

the boys are back in town

oh goody! the gang's back!! I'm talking about Vinnie and the rest of his crew here (read: ENTOURAGE). I just love, love, love that show. Too bad I wasn't able to catch the season opener. In fact I missed not one, not two but the first FOUR episodes! Argh! And to think that I've been waiting for the new episodes to air since the last season ended. Double Argh!



I haven't been watching much TV this past few, that's why I wasn't aware HBO was running the latest season already. It's true! This self confessed couch potato isn't pulling your leg. Honest. If I hadn't been channel surfing yesterday while waiting for the UST vs. UE match up to air I just might have totally missed the run altogether. That's about the only thing I look forward to watching these days. The UAAP games, I mean. And only if the Tigers are playing.

is there a doctor in the house?

i'm a huge fan of House, MD. ever seen that show? well i just looove the guy. of all the episodes i've seen so far--season 2, episode 2 is by far the most poignant and the most inspiring.



it's also the most disturbing graphic-wise. i had to cringe a couple or so times. one was when they had to drill andie's head and the second when her eyes got all bloody (notice the patch)... for a more detailed synopsis, read this.

Finally, I was able to watch Da Vinci Code earlier today. `Didn't like it much. I believe the film version's a poor adaptation of the book. Too many details were omitted or changed altogether. It was confusing at best. Had I not read the book I would never have understood the film.

I saw the tail end of the pilot of Grey's Anatomy when it aired last Wednesday (was it? I forget) I kinda liked it so I waited for the rerun this afternoon that way I'd get to watch the whole thing.

My Verdict? I still like it.

In fact, I liked it even more especially since seeing the play between Derrick and Meredith's characters. Kilig! I can't wait (emphasis on the can't wait) to see what's gonna happen to them next week.



I've been noticing that there's more medical drama/comedy shows on air lately. There's House which I also like and the spin-off of Ed, Scrubs which again I also like watching. After reality and CSI-ish shows, we have this. I wonder, ano kaya ang susunod na trend?

What's sad about it was that his mom was there to witness the whole thing. I don't know if it's just my imagination but I seem to sense a little boy in Constantine still seeking approval from his mother.

my funny valentine

Since I'm not rooting for anybody in particular, I've been missing a lot of AI episodes recently. It was only this week that I was again able to watch the show and I couldn't believe my ears when I heard Constantine Maroulis sing!! Grabe! His voice was so dang sexy. I didn't know he had it in him. Admittedly, the arrangement of the song (my funny valentine sans the title of this post) helped a lot but still...

I just can't get my hands on any substantial link to prove the claim, but I swear I saw a news piece about her and her being part Filipina on ANC.

Also, there are rumors going around that Amanda Avila is also Pinay.

But come to think of it, what does it matter anyway?

My liking for this guy went down three notches when I saw him making pa-cute in the most recent episode of AI. Hindi kasi bagay dahil "rocker" siya eh.

He's still great...don't get me wrong...a definite crowd drawer. But clearly he's not good enough to make it far in the competition.

This one however, will undoubtedly go far. Auditions pa lang, all praises na sa kanya yung 3 judges. And he's a great performer too, kaya lang parang kulang...

Now this one naman, he's my top one male performer...cool na cool pero hanep sa boses...ang lagay eh nininerbiyos pa sya noon, ha...i do believe he's gonna make it to top three...

ang sad naman...sharon galvez didn't make it to the next round of AI. tinanong ko si andre kanina kung kasali sa wildcard ang boot camp, ang sabi niya hindi daw. but im still hoping na mali siya. please confirm...anyone?

I just found out that Nate Berkus, Oprah's favorite interior designer, was among the staggering many devastated by the tsunami tragedy.

His was clearly a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Naisip ko tuloy, ang kamalasan talaga, walang pinipiling tao. Tuloy ang dalangin ko, kapag dumating ang kamalasan sa buhay ko, biyayaan sana Niya ako ng sapat na katatagan at lakas ng loob. Amen.

Kagabi, habang nagtsa-channel surf ay nasumpungan ko ang isang palabas sa Star Movies na kinabibidahan ni Scott Baio. Noong una hindi ko siya talaga nakilala. Hindi naman nagbago ang mukha niya mula noong Charles in Charge days niya. Nag-mature lang siya ng kaunti. Siguro, sadyang sakit ko lang talaga ang matagal maka-recognize ng mukha.

The Bread, My Sweet ang title ng pelikulang napanood ko. Ang corny noh? Pero maganda naman yung kuwento. Makaka-relate tayong mga Pilipino kasi umiikot ang istorya sa pamilya. Medyo surreal nga lang. Bakit ko nasabi? Well, sino ba naman ang matinong lalaki na magpo-propose sa isang babae kakikilala lamang niya?

Isa pang napanood ko ay ang The Man from Elysian Fields starring Andy Garcia. Bale ang siste, I slept with thinking of Scott and woke up to Andy.

Last Saturday pa ako kating-kati na panoorin ang pelikulang 'to kaya lang baby shower ni Ella so like it or not, kailangan kong i-postpone until the following day ang panonood.

The following day. Maaga pa lang kinuntrata ko na ang aking watch-a-movie partner na si andre na panonoorin nga namin ang The Incredibles. Si Andre ang nag-set ng oras, ala una daw kami aalis that way makakapag-movie marathon kami.

Ala-una. Bihis na ako. All set and ready to go. Hinihintay ko na lang ang aking peyborit nephew. Aba! ang magaling nakatulog yata. Bilang butihing tita, hinayaan ko na lang muna siya dahil baliktad ang body clock niya. So i waited...and waited...Alas tres, Alas kuwatro....hindi pa din siya nagigising!! Di ko na ma-take, kinatok ko na siya sa kuwarto niya...Susme! tulog mantika ang binata...

Kaya ayun ako, di mapakali. Hot na hot na `ko manood pero wala akong magawa. Ayoko naman manood mag-isa...so naghintay pa ako... Nanood na lang muna ako ng TV. Kaya lang ang nakakainis, parang nananadya ang tadhana dahil maya't-maya ang pakita nila ng trailer ng The Incredibles! Kung di ba naman...

Bandang alas siyete. Nagising din SA WAKAS ang magaling kong pamangkin. Game na. Okay na. off to the cinema na sana kaya lang...nag-request ang hijo, manonood pa daw muna sya ng Survivor! waah! kaloka!!

Sa kinatapusan, umabot naman kami sa LFS.
